“Proud to Be American”

Project Description

I photographed the painting of the flag, including the text, "Proud to be American" on a sign posted in front of the derelict "Imperial Schrade" building in Ellenville, NY. In it's heyday, Schrade employed 700 people. The factory was closed in 2004, laying off approximately 250 workers.
